What recommendations would you give to Dr. Natter, and why?
After misreading an x-ray, Dr. Pullet removed a healthy incisor from Timothy Toothe’s mouth. Dr. Pullet fitted Timothy with a fixed bridge that did not stay in place and caused Timothy great pain, and loss of time at work. Timothy made an appointment to see another dentist, Dr. Natter. Dr. Natter repaired the ill-fitting bridge, and made remarks about Dr. Pullet doing “shoddy work.” Timothy sued Dr. Pullet for malpractice. In the opinion of the jurors, the patient had some responsibility for his injuries, and Dr. Pullet was found not guilty.
